Carolee Buckler

Project Manager, International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD)

As Project Manager with IISD Global Connectivity program, Carolee Buckler leads IISD's work related to training and leadership development of young professionals, and the engagement of youth in sustainable development learning and action. Her work involves a range of activities including, the creation, management and delivery of a variety of training programs; research into effective leadership building and policy frameworks for human resource skills; and working with other organizations also involved in training, leadership programming and youth education and empowerment. In 2008, Carolee led the development of a consortium of international institutions (IUCN, WWF and LEAD) to train the next generation of sustainable development leaders. Carolee has designed and delivered workshops, on-line training, and presentations on leadership, coaching, cross-cultural communications, career development, and project management.

Carolee currently sits on Eco Canada's National Steering Committee for Environmental Labour Market Information. She is a former board member of the Manitoba Council for International Cooperation and World University Services Canada. In 2008, Carolee became a LEAD - Canada Fellow. She has lived, worked, and travelled in over 25 countries and is proficient in Spanish. She holds a Masters in International Development Studies from Saint Mary's University (Halifax) and a Bachelor of Arts (Hon) in Political Studies. Carolee was the Recipient of the Canadian International Development Agency Scholarship Research Award for Young Canadians.
