Katherine (Cohort 13) is an Environmental Specialist who oversees contaminated site investigations and remedial programs for the Municipal Government. She carries out strategic planning activities and provides environmental advisory services and project management to brownfield development projects. She also works in the area of Air and Climate Change and Sustainability. She is the Wellness Ambassador for the Environmental and Safety Management business unit. Katherine previously worked as a Project Manager and Environmental Consultant for the real estate and oil & gas sectors. As a volunteer on a community-based project in Costa Rica in 1993 with Youth Challenge International, Katherine became struck by the environmental challenges faced by developing countries and its effects on human health and, as a result, made it her mission to better the planet and the environment.

Katherine has a BSc in Environmental Science from the University of Calgary and has completed coursework towards an MBA in Science & Technology from Queen's School of Business (Kingston, ON). She is a Professional Agrologist (P.Ag.) and a Certified Canadian Environmental Practitioner (CCEP).
