At the core of LEAD's international network is its training and capacity-building program. Known as 'The Fellows Program', applicants who are accepted will attend two one-week sessions in Canada and one one-week session at an international location selected by LEAD International. Through this program, participants will deepen their understanding of global/local sustainability challenges and develop skills needed to deal with the challenges of global and local sustainability.
Funding to develop and deliver LEAD Canada's professional development programs, from 2007 through 2010, has been generously provided by both HSBC Bank and LEAD International.
For those who are accepted into the 2010 program (Cohort 16), the first of the two domestic, 5-day, residential training sessions will be held in Toronto (Aug 1 to 6, 2010) and the second will be held in Calgary (May 2011). The 5-day residential program that is organized by LEAD International (October 2011) will be held in Montreal and Ottawa, Canada.
